How has the Vietnamese Supreme People’s Court trampled on the law

 Lê Anh Hùng

Dear Sirs and Madams,

On 4 October 2025, I received Notice No. 708/2025/TB-TA, dated 30 September 2025, from the Vietnamese Supreme People’s Court, concerning the matter of “Handling the petition for cassation review.”

Notice No. 708/2025/TB-TA by the People's Sumpreme Court of Vietnam

This document demonstrates a blatant disregard for the law and an outrageous trampling on justice by the Supreme People’s Court. Specifically:

  1. The Notice states: “based on your testimony at the investigative agency and the first-instance trial,” but in reality, I gave no testimony whatsoever to the investigative agency.

My stance when working with them—as I explained in the document titled “How Law Enforcement Agencies Violated the Law in the Case of Lê Anh Hùng” (attached to my petition for cassation review)—is that the Security Investigation Agency violated the law by instituting legal proceedings against and arresting me (and that the Hanoi People’s Procuracy violated the law by approving those decisions of the Security Investigation Agency under the Hanoi Public Security Department).

Therefore, I demanded that they release me unconditionally and restart the case from the beginning in accordance with the proper legal procedure for a accusatory case.

(If I were to cooperate with them in any form, it would mean I had legitimized their unlawful acts against me.)

At the clandestine first-instance trial held at the Hanoi People’s Court on 30 August 2022, I likewise made no testimony, but simply forthrightly affirmed the actions I had taken, not as an admission of any crime.

  1. The Notice states that my defamations were “unverified and untrue,” but in reality, my act of hanging the banner was an act of accusation (since the banner contained accusatory content).

More importantly, this was not a sudden or abnormal act, but part of a series of accusatory actions I have carried out since 21 April 2008, directed at Deputy Prime Minister and Chinese spy chief Hoàng Trung Hải, Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, General Secretary Nông Đức Mạnh, and General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng.

The relevant agencies—the Quảng Trị Provincial Public Security Department, the Ministry of Public Security, and the National Assembly (through National Assembly deputy Dương Trung Quốc)—failed to handle my accusations in accordance with the law, as I have already detailed in the document “How Law Enforcement Agencies Violated the Law in the Case of Lê Anh Hùng” and in my published account “The Story of My Life: A Journey for Justice for the Fatherland and the People.”

I will continue my journey for justice.

Please raise your voices to demand the Vietnamese authorities resolve my accusations in accordance with the law.

Hanoi, 5 October 2025

Yours sincerely,

Lê Anh Hùng
